How Designations Through RE/MAX® Can Help You Find Success

You know what they typically say about a jack of all trades — they’re a master of none. Well, that isn’t always the case. When it comes to designations, each one behind your name tells the story of your education, experience and expertise. They can soothe stressed clients who need specific help. They say you’re more than a jack — you’re a master of your trade.

Take Jill Vodicka of RE/MAX Connections in Carlsbad, California, for example. The 13-year real estate veteran boasts a stacked resume of credentials:

  • ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative)
  • CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert)
  • CHMS (Certified Home Marketing Specialist)
  • CRS (Certified Residential Specialist)
  • MRP (Military Relocation Professional)
  • OICP (OwnAmerica Investment Certification)
  • PMN (Performance Management Network)
  • SRES (Seniors Real Estate Specialist)
  • CLS (Certified Luxury Specialist)

Each designation represents Jill’s commitment to achieving mastery of her profession and helping as many clients as she can. Just as importantly, her designations tell other agents Jill knows her stuff.

“For the most part, I work by referral,” Jill said. “I want other agents to know they can trust me with their referrals. I take my job and education seriously. I think my designations demonstrate that.”

All her work has paid off, literally — she achieved RE/MAX Hall of Fame status in 2021 (over $1 million gross commissions) and was a Platinum Club member last year in 2024 ($250,000 to $499,999 in gross commissions in the previous calendar year).

RE/MAX Helps Designate for Success

RE/MAX makes it a point to help agents be the best they can be. With numerous educational opportunities through RE/MAX University®, you can work towards certifications and designations that interest you. In-person and virtual offerings mean you can make learning work around your schedule, not the other way around.

It’s more than just the courses available, though. Jill also took advantage of special opportunities afforded by RE/MAX to earn some of her specialties.

“I obtained my CRS designation with a 50% off special that was offered at R4®,” Jill said. “I also received my Certified Luxury Specialist designation while at the Luxury Forum event, thus requiring less travel and time away from my business.”

The ability to take courses while at events is just one of many ways RE/MAX makes it easier to earn designations.

A Wide World of Possibilities

There’s a kind of freedom that comes with being a real estate agent. All corners of the industry stretch out before you, allowing you to carve out your own niche and work the specializations that matter to you — and clients, too.

Jill sums it up perfectly.

“There won’t be a time where a client doesn’t use you because you have a designation. But there will be a time when they pick someone else who has a designation.”
